Artisan Silver Ring with Natural Hand-Cut Garnet, Gold Details and Historical Ornament

A historical fragment rebuilt around a stone that refuses perfect geometry.

The ornamental relief surrounding the stone comes from our personal archive of impressions gathered during years of travel.

Years ago, we took an impression from a decorative detail discovered in the entrance hall of an old St. Petersburg building. The same fragment has appeared before in our work, but here Mikhail rebuilt it into a new composition — partially gilded and set against a dark, heavily oxidized surface.

At the center is a natural garnet, individually cut by hand.

We found these garnets as a small batch. They share a similar deep red color, transparency and proportions, yet their geometry is never completely identical. Slightly uneven edges and subtle variations in the cut are part of the stones themselves.

Because of this, each ring is built individually around its garnet. Mikhail adjusts the setting and surrounding details by hand to follow the proportions of the particular stone.

The surface is oxidized using volcanic sulfur collected during our journey in Indonesia.

LIMITED STONE EDITION

This version is available only while our current small batch of hand-cut natural garnets lasts.

Once these stones are gone, the garnet edition will likely become unavailable until we happen to find suitable stones again.

The design itself may return with other natural gemstones discovered along the way — perhaps tourmalines, sapphires, or stones we haven’t encountered yet.

Rather than reproducing one perfectly standardized stone, each edition is shaped by what we are able to find.

Each ring is made individually around its stone, preserving the recognizable composition while allowing small differences in proportion and setting.

The design remains.
The stones change with what we find.
