VESTIGIA Ring
Baroque Silver Statement Ring with Volcanic Oxidation
A fragment of ornament, preserved in metal.
The band is built as a continuous relief,
composed of scrolling elements and vegetal forms.
The pattern recalls Baroque decorative systems,
where movement and asymmetry were part of the structure,
not just surface detail.
Here, the ornament is not intact.
The composition is slightly shifted,
interrupted and held together at the junction —
as if separate parts were brought back into alignment.
This creates a tension within the form:
between continuity and displacement.
The relief reads as a surviving fragment,
rather than a complete pattern.
The surface is oxidized using volcanic sulfur,
deepening the contrast between raised and recessed areas.
Light catches on the edges,
revealing the movement of the ornament over time.
A sterling silver artisan ring with Baroque-inspired relief and volcanic oxidation.
