The beauty of what time leaves behind.

Ruinism is an artistic direction developed by Mikhail Savchenkov around the idea of objects transformed by time.

Its language draws from fragments of architecture, historical ornament, archaeological finds and objects whose original form has been altered, damaged or partially lost. These references are not reproduced literally. They become starting points for new forms — objects that may feel as though they carry a history of their own.

A Ruinistic piece does not belong to a particular historical period or style. Elements associated with different cultures and eras may coexist within the same work, while in others the connection to the past appears only through surface, proportion, fragmentation or the sense of an object that has survived.

Irregularity is an essential part of this language. Worn surfaces, broken lines, traces of ornament, oxidation and deliberate imperfections are used not as decoration, but as evidence of imagined time.

Each piece is carved by hand in wax and cast in sterling silver. Many works are finished with oxidation, including a process developed using natural volcanic sulfur collected at the Ijen crater in Indonesia.

Ruinism continues to evolve with each new work. It is not a collection defined by a season or a fixed set of motifs, but an ongoing visual language shaped by history, material and Mikhail’s own interpretation of what remains.

The same language continues beyond the object — each piece is presented in hand-finished packaging inspired by volcanic stone.
